Unfortunately, there are very real realities among us, like not having food or shelter. And fortunately, there are organizations that work daily to help. But, they in turn need our help to keep doing what they do.<\/p>\n

One such organization is Gleaners Food Bank, which serves southeast Michigan. Gleaners tries to make the effort for you to help as easy as possible. On their website you can access the “Gleaners Virtual Food Drive.” Instead of you you purchasing food from a store and bringing the items to them, you can shop or donate directly from the Gleaners website.<\/p>\n

“You can help us reach our goal of distributing the equivalent of over 100,000 meals every day to our hungry neighbors in southeast Michigan. With a demand at an all-time high, we have to purchase more food than ever in order to meet the needs of our 550 food pantries, soup kitchens, and community agencies.<\/p>\n

Your generous gift to Gleaners will provide our hungry neighbors with the nutritious and healthy meals they need. Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 94 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.<\/p>\n
