Belle Isle<\/a> <\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\nThe perimeter of this 2.5-mile, 982-acre island park in the Detroit River offers runners almost 6 miles to roam. Use the roads throughout the island’s interior to create a 10-mile or more route.<\/p>\n
Clinton River Park Trail<\/strong><\/a><\/a><\/h4>\nThis paved 4.5-mile trail winds along the east bank of its namesake river and passes through Jaycee Park and Heritage Park. Deer, turtles, and waterfowl are among the wildlife that call the area home.<\/p>\n
Detroit RiverWalk<\/a> <\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\nFor views of the Detroit river and the city skyline, this 3.5-mile route can’t be beat. Plus, the trail links Milliken State Park and several plazas and pocket parks. <\/p>\n
Hines Parkway<\/strong><\/a><\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\nThis parkway is made up of smaller parks and recreation areas along Hines Drive, a 17-mile road that follows the Rouge River from Dearborn to Northville. Runners are treated to views of the river, old mils, open fields, and ponds.<\/p>\n
Kensington Metropark<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\nThis park has 4,481 acres of wooded, hilly terrain surrounding Kent Lake, which is known for beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
