Something that Royal Oak has is a little bit of everything. It’s what makes it interesting and what makes it hard to narrow down the choices during Royal Oak Restaurant Week. So it’s only fitting that Rock on Third is Royal Oak’s neighborhood bar in only the way a neighborhood bar in Royal Oak can be.
“Everything we’re offering for Royal Oak Restaurant Week is normally what we have on our menu except for the antipasto salad and dessert,” says Carrie O’Neill, manager at Rock on Third and president of the Royal Oak Restaurant Association, the organizers of Royal Oak Restaurant Week.
Rock on Third will be offering a $15 three-course lunch and dinner during Royal Oak Restaurant Week. Appetizers include a choice of an antipasto plate, a Michigan harvest salad or an Italian chopped salad. A half-slab of baby back ribs, cheese tortellini, tortellini Bolognese, spaghetti and chicken parmesan cover the entrée choices. There’s a choice of cheesecake, with or without strawberries, or double-layered chocolate cake for dessert.
The menu, along with a choice of 140 bottled craft beers, 50 of them from Michigan, is what makes Rock on Third stand out as how it does the neighborhood bar thing Royal Oak style.
“We have a comfortable pub type of atmosphere, the kind place where people might say, ‘Let’s have a nightcap,’” O’Neill says.
Rock on Third is located 112 E. Third Street in Royal Oak.
