Ok people, I have said it before (previous blog) and I will say it again….
work smarter not harder
I am of the theory that what has worked in the past with weight loss can and does still work, there are however some new tools out there that can make it even easier and more cost effective! Don’t get me wrong, its always fun to try new fitness toys here and there and in doing so, I have found that some of them are actually better then hitting the gym miles down the street. These are workout tools that you can use in your own home and even take with you as you travel. Todays choice of fit equipment is the RESISTANCE BANDS. These can run you anywhere from $5.00- $25.00+……I will again highlight some quick workouts you can try at home , and see great results!
1. Chest Press
Wrap the band around something stable behind you and hold handles in both hands, tubing running along the inside of the arms (under the armpits), palms facing each other. Squeeze chest and press arms out in front of you. Return to start and repeat 10-15 reps. You can also do this one arm at a time to increase the toning individually.
2. Overhead Shoulder Press
Place both feet on the band and grasp the handles, bringing hands up over your shoulders with elbows bent and palms in. Press arms up over your head, and exhale during the contraction. You can use both arms or one at a timesqueeze, and then lower. Repeat 15 reps.
3. Resisted Squats
Stand on bands shoulder width apart while grasping the handles. Make sure to keep knees behind the feet so you do not over extend. Slowy squat down while keeping the upper body straight up. For added resistance, you can add the shoulder press upward while lowering down to the squat for a full body excercise. Repeat 3 sets for 15 reps.
Enjoy your workout, trust me you will love it! Let me know:)
