Eat Something New and Eat Out Often During Kalamazoo Restaurant Week

January 19, 2012
By

Nearly every city has a restaurant week and Kalamazoo is no exception as eight of downtown’s finer dining establishments kick off Kalamazoo Restaurant Week on Jan. 20.

Each restaurant features a specially-priced three-course menu that gives diners a chance at trying something new without taking too much risk to the pocketbook or an opportunity to upgrade a dining experience on a budget.

Central City Tap Room, Old Burdick’s Bar & Grill and The Union Cabaret & Grill are offering $25 for two dinner specials. Central City’s choice of artisan sausage sampler with drunken apples and spatzle or lobster and shrimp mac and cheese are “can’t misses” paired with any of the beers on their list, including hometown favorites, Bell’s Amber, Pale Ale and Porter. The Union is offering pulled pork and beef sandwiches paired with sharable appetizers and pretzel crust caramel cheesecake. Old Burdick’s at the Marriott has the biggest choice of favorites on its three-course dinner menu. Can’t make it for dinner? Central City and The Union are serving their two for $25 deals at lunch, too.

Comesoli’s Italian Bistro, Epic Bistro, Webster’s Prime, The Wine Loft and Zazio’s are offering $25 dinner specials – a real bargain compared to what three-course dinners usually run. Epic Bistro is serving up a winter-hearty roasted pork loin with braised Honeycrisp apples and pan-seared Scottish salmon for its main courses. Grass-fed sirloin, Norwegian salmon and chicken breast with maple crème round out the special entrée offerings at Webster’s Prime. The Wine Loft keeps the choice but not the dinner special simple starting with lobster and corn bisque, roasted pork tenderloin in a fig-apricot compote for the main course, and panna cotta for dessert. As always, Zazio’s keeps things interesting with a twisted twist on Italian Cuisine or check out Comesoli’s for more traditional Italian dining.

At these prices, every night of Kalamazaoo Restaurant Week can be a Date Night … if the waistband allows.

This post is brought to you by the fine folks at Paragon Apartments, offering apartments across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, and the Paragon Patio, where residents connect. We’d love to talk with you on Facebook and Twitter!

Ultimately, champions are those who think they can.
The gambling called business looks with austere disfavor upon the business enterprise called gambling.
