Hey all you west-side-of-Michiganders! There’s a fun music festival coming up for you to check out if indie music is your thing.
The third annual Indie Rock Music Festival kicks off Friday, and the music will keep on playin’ through Saturday in Grand Haven. The 10 bands will perform outside in downtown; it’s free and there will a beer tent if you care to partake.
The list of bands is here; they make up a pretty good mix of “New Mexican space music” (The Soil & The Sun, an eight-piece group that includes violin, cello and piano), “the cute guy with the killer voice” (Garrett Borns), rock bands, a guitar-drums duo, and more. Both nights, the first act takes the stage at 7 p.m., with the last kicking off at 11 p.m.
Even if you’re not that crazy about indie music, or if it’s not enough for you to make the trip out to Grand Haven, there are other activities happening that weekend, too. The Grand Haven Art Walk is also taking place starting today through Oct. 8; a kiteboarding competition is also scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. How fun does that sound?
What do you think? Will you be at this fun weekend?
This post is brought to you by the fine folks at Paragon Apartments, offering apartments across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, and the Paragon Patio, where residents connect. We’d love to talk with you on Facebook and Twitter!
