If you love summertime and squeeze every bit of it into your day, there’s still plenty of summer to be had.
On Saturday, August 27th, the city of Southfield will host the second annual SumMore Fest on the front lawn of the Civic Center Municipal Complex, at Evergreen and Civic Center Drive.
Starting at 10am, a 3-mile run/walk will kick off the event, which will feature a host of different areas of fare and entertainment, like; a craft fair, petting farm, inflatable playscapes, kite performances, city-wide trunk sale, 1860s vintage baseball game featuring the Regular Base Ball Club of Mt. Clemens versus the Ludington Mariners, and police K-9 demonstrations.
Senior Gardeners, of the nearby Mary Thompson farm, will participate in a vegetable competion. Also featured during the SumMore Fest is the “Dog Days of the SumMore Fest” offering activities for your family pet.
The city-wide truck sale will start at 10am, and the SumMore festival runs from 11am – 5pm. Evergreen Road will be closed at City Hall during the SumMore Fest. To rent a space for the trunk sale ($25/two parking spaces) call the number below.
