When you’re a school of about 25,000 students, plus faculty and staff, it’s hard to keep a secret. But Western Michigan University has managed to keep a big announcement under wraps and plans to let us all in on it tomorrow, March 22, at 9:15 a.m.
Dubbed Operation: Historic Moment, proceeded by a major PR blitz complete with a website, Facebook and Twitter pages, the Kalamazoo Gazette is reporting that President John Dunn will announce:
“A history-making development that will impact the campus, community, state and nation for decades to come.”
The announcement will take place in Room 4010 of the College of Health and Human Services Building. It will also be streamed live on operationhistoricmoment.com.
Very little is known about Operation: Historic Moment, though some clues have been offered through the Twitter account, according to the Gazette. “OHM is a historic moment, a first in MI and at a national scale. Keep your eyes peeled to your surroundings as well as the social media universe, clues are abound.”
Some have speculated about what the project is as WMU has many projects in the work, including a new medical school, renovations to East Hall and constructing a new building to house the Archives & Regional History Collections.
So what do you think the big announcement is? Let us know in the comments section.
