Easy A – Breaking the Habit

Easy A

I was thoroughly pleased with how this film turned out. Sequestering itself from the cliches of modern teen comedies/dramas, Easy A is about settings the story straight. The talented Emma Stones, portrays Olive, a precocious high school  student who falls victim to the gossip mill. Well it was mostly her fault. Instead of playing the victim role, she fights back in her own way, letting the school think what she wants them to think.

She begins to make a profit off of the gossip that she (and her accomplices) intentionally start. Let’s just say this plan of hers backfires, more than once. And since I’m not entirely big on spoilers you are just going to have to see if Olive makes it out alive.

If this film was a man, it would be handsome, funny, intelligent and a cuddlier. The acting is superb, Olive’s family is my favorite. They remind me a lot of my family. And Olive reminds me of my friends and I when we were her age. The cinematography plays a huge role in this film. It is used as a way of communication, as well as a way to see the picture as a whole. There is a lot of work in the background and forefront that comes together on the screen.

All in all I would give this movie a 9.0/10. Definitely worth seeing if you want to snuggle up under the covers in this blustery cold weather, and have a good hearty laugh.

Gossip is a habit that can become contagious, misconstruing the truth into lies that the masses gullibly buy in to. What is better than the truth than a lie. The only way to kill this contagious disease is to bite your tongue.
