One of the most loveliest places I miss frequenting was Universal Lanes in Warren.
Whenever I am in the mood to knock a few pins down with my friends and/or family, this is my go to place. I’ve been going here every since I was high school and I just went bowling there since graduating from college and everything looks so brand new. They have just finished renovations to the bar, and concessions area.
Universal has always had specials on open bowling and their concessions have improved since I last feasted there. They now serve oven baked pizza, burgers and submarines. The newly modeled bar also has awesomely inexpensive drink specials which is located conveniently right behind the bowling lanes.
Sometimes they have special giveaways, where they will have drawings to win a free party, or a free game of bowling, or even a book of coupons you can use there.
Not only does bowling help relieve tension for me but it also releases my inner competitiveness. Bowling my heart out to beat my friends who usually win. Usually after a certain time they have glow bowling, turning off the fluorescents and allowing the black lights to illuminate everything in sight.
I didn’t realize how much I missed this place until I went a couple of weeks ago with my bestie and sister. And now that smoking has been banned, I can breathe easy and free and bowl all at the same time. Ahhh.
