Long before my young nieces fell for Troy Bolton and recited the words to High School Musical, the movie of choice at sleepovers and birthday parties was Grease. I’m certain I still know every word Danny Zuko sang to Sandy in that nostalgic musical. Admit it, you do too.
And this weekend, we get a chance to prove it. Grease Sing-A-Long debuts at MJR Partridge Creek Cinema in Clinton Township. This special edition will have crowds hand-jiving their way through the sappy love story of teenagers Danny and Sandy, played by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.
Rather than keeping quiet while the film rolls, the audience is urged to sing along to the songs we all grew up with as the movie musical – which made its debut in 1978 – revives our love for the Pink Ladies and poodle skirts.

What’s your favorite scene in Grease? I’m a fan of the pivotal moment when Cha Cha DiGregorio sneaks her way into the dance contest with Danny – and wins. It’s a game-changer for Sandy when she needs one. Will you see it and sing-a-long?
