Online dating is more popular than any other way of finding that right person. My very first experience was about 5 years ago on Match.com. I found MR.Right!!!
The emailing went on for quite some time. Slowly he started a scenario that ended up asking me for money. This is the African online dating scheme. Luckily, I did not give him any money but it was amazing how he emotionally pulled me in. I reported him and he was immediately taken off the site. Since then I have come to learn how to spot them. First of all they are usually widowed, have a degree and run their own business. Their profile is great but they want you to email them on their private email. If you choose to do so, they now have your email. Also you will notice that their English is broken in the emails but perfect on the profile. BEWARE….they are on every site!!!
Here are a few sites I have been on and what I think about them:
Plentyoffish.com - this is a free site. I find that on this site there are a lot of men lying. Many of them are married and many of them are searching for sex. Now I have met a few nice men but I am very careful on this site.
Match.com - this is , in my opinion, the best site. I have met some really nice men on this site. Many African scammers are are on this site though. One time I found a scammer and there were 2 pictures. They were different men in each picture. I could not believe how stupid. I turned him in. Other than that if I am going to go online this is the site I choose.
Zoosk.com - I do not like this site. The set-up is not real user friendly and most of the men do not fill out any kind of profile. I find that very frustrating and will not use this site again.
Seniormeetingpeople.com - This site is just OK. I find that just putting in the age in the search is good enough for me on Match.
eHarmony – this site is built up a lot but I like it least of all. The system matches you up. There is no search. You take a very long psychological test and they send matches.
Remember that you should always meet in public for a while until you feel your date is an honest person and someone you can trust. Online dating can be very dangerous if you are not careful. There are many types of predators and online sites is where they stalk!! Be careful and have fun!!
