Beat the heat at Plymouth Art in the Park this weekend

July 8, 2010
By

Good news, the extreme heat is about to break. Temperatures are due to fall into the much more acceptable 80s – and mid summer makes for the perfect time to stroll around downtown Plymouth’s Art in the Park.

Nothing says hometown quite like this event, which was founded by mother-daughter duo Dianne Quinn and Raychel Rork. This marks the 31st year of Art in the Park, the state’s 2nd largest art fair.

It stretches from Church south to Wing street and from Harvey east of Union, encompassing Kellogg Park and so much more.

More than 400 artists showcase their original works in the quaint town of Plymouth – and more than 200,000 people are expected to attend the event. With everything from live entertainment to childrens’ activities, Plymouth Art in the Park is sure to draw a diverse crowd.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (734) 454-1314 or email info@artinthepark.com.

Does anyone know of any secret parking tricks, have any restaurant tips or are you on the lookout for any particular artists this year? We’d love to hear about them. Leave us a note or insider tip in the comments section.
