MJR VS. AMC MACOMB.

MJR- Partridge Creek is a great place to be with the family or with your friends. It’s always a good thing to have something to do on the weekends, but I don’t see this theater being a place to go on a date or really for anyone over the age of thirty (maybe). I say that because a few experiences there lead me to believe that this spot is literally ran by kids or teens. If you go their matinee, it is literally ran by kids and there parents. If you go there in the evening it is ran by teens and preteens. Don’t get me wrong this is a great place to be, it looks appealing …..it wasn’t contaminated or anything, I didn’t get bad service, and it was a cool experience. There was nothing to really complain about from this particular movie theater. From a one to ten would rate it an seven and a half.

There was one night where I just really wanted to get out of the house, I guess I was really bored for no reason. Therefore my boyfriend and I decided we should just go out. My mother was in town and thought it would be nice to watch my our son while we tried to figure out what we wanted to do that night. After about an hour of deep thought we came up with idea of going to the movies. So naturally we went to the closest theater which is MJR Partridge Creek. This particular night there was kids and teens everywhere. Just so you know this was a regular weekend no Avatar or Twilight anything. It was just a regular Friday night. Now we had already made up our mind that we would go and see Jamie fox flick LAW ABIDING CITIZIN. When we arrived at the theater we changed our mind only because STEP FATHER was sold out. So we figured that would be a better movie especially since its sold out. So we were determined to go to another theater not too far from where we were to see the movie. AMC forum 30 is the one that we resorted to and surprisingly there were no kids, we saw quite a few couples. The funny thing is that Step Father wasn’t sold out at this theater so we decided to go on and see it. It later hit me that this was one of the worst movies that I have seen in a while (although it had a good plot), and the reason that is was sold out at MJR is because the kids were just old enough to see it (PG13 vs. rated R).

For a dollar more AMC forum 30 in my opinion is the better theater. Its was absolutely worth it. The theater wasn’t over populated with people under the age of eighteen, the bathrooms were clean and tidy, the staff were cordial, basically everything was together. This is the ideal place to go on a date, hang out with friends, or just if you wanna go see a movie. I would recommend this place for you. On a scale from one to ten I would rate this place a nine an a half, only because of the high prices. Everything is super high here from popcorn to pop and candy. I believe if they could charge you for napkins…. they would.

According to MJR and AMC the average price for tickets in this area aver 8.95. AMC alone in the area averaged 9.67, and MJR in this area averaged 8.64. MJR has AMC beat by more than a dollar. These are pretty high prices, meaning if you want to take your whole family out to the movies depending on who all goes your look at spending more than thirty dollars not including food and drinks. In the last few years movies prices have drastically risen dew to raising the price of popcorn, But that another topic ill probably touch rising prices in one of my future post.

So if your looking for a more socialistic scene and cheaper prices I would recommend MJR theaters and/or if your looking for a more upbeat, mature place to be on a Friday or Saturday night I would absolutely recommend AMC.
